Greg Campbell

Greg Campbell has been practicing law in Blacksburg since July 1, 1977. He founded our firm on January 1, 1990. Greg earned his law degree from the College of William & Mary and his undergraduate degree from UNC Chapel Hill. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Montgomery-Radford Bar Association.

Greg resides in Blacksburg with his wife, Anne. They are the parents of grown children, Jud and Loy.

Bettye Ackerman

Bettye Ackerman is an attorney focusing on Estate Planning and Family Law. She rejoined Greg Campbell to form Campbell & Ackerman Attorneys at Law in January, 2018.

Since graduating from law school in 1991 she has held a variety of positions. After law school, she worked for the Georgia Legal Services Program representing low income people in civil matters, primarily family, education and estate planning. In 1996, she became the lead attorney for the Middle Georgia AIDS Law Project. She provided legal representation to people with HIV in 23 counties in Georgia and supervised law students focusing primarily on estate planning, housing and family law. She then worked as an administrator in several law schools: Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia, Boston University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts and Fordham Law School in New York, New York. She also worked as a staff attorney for South Middlesex Legal Services in Framingham, Massachusetts representing low income children in education cases. From 2005 to 2015, she was an Associate at H. Gregory Campbell, Jr. PC in Blacksburg, Virginia representing clients primarily in estate planning and family law. From 2015 to 2017, she was an Associate with Anderson, Desimone & Green, PC in Blacksburg primarily assisting clients with estate planning and guardianships.

She graduated from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1988 and Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia in 1991. She and her husband, Michael Garvin, and children, Cassidy and Finlay, have resided in Blacksburg since 2005.

Patrick Malloy

Patrick Malloy is an attorney assisting clients in all facets of the firm’s practice areas. He joined Campbell & Ackerman Attorneys at Law in September 2023 after spending two years as a Judicial Law Clerk for Judge Robert M.D. Turk and Judge K. Mike Fleenor Jr. in Montgomery County Circuit Court. Prior to moving to Virginia with his family in 2020, Patrick worked as a civil litigator in Northern California for four years.

He received his B.A. in English in 2010 from UCLA and J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle in 2015. In between college and law school, Patrick spent two years working at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Patrick and his wife, Hayley Reynolds, reside in Blacksburg with their two children, Rosalie and Tallulah.
